Mental Case for Wish Lists and GTD

There are many different ways you can use Mental Case, for any number of goals, but I'm guessing that very few have thought of using Mental Case as an app to store wish lists.

Here's how it works: Mental Case for iPhone allows you to create new notes, and you can use the built in camera to set an image. If you see something you would like to have, such as a book, but don't want to buy it right now, you can create a new note in Mental Case with a photo of whatever it is you wish for. You can store all of your 'wished for' items in a single 'Wish List' case.

When you sync later, Mental Case will transfer the wish list notes back to your Mac, and you will be reminded of them occasionally when they appear in the lesson. You should probably set a schedule of 'Monthly' for the 'Wish List' case, so that the items turn up in the lesson fairly regularly.

This usage of Mental Case was partially inspired by how I sometimes use Getting Things Done (GTD) apps like OmniFocus to store lists of things to buy. Actually, there are surprising similarities between Mental Case and GTD apps like OmniFocus: both allow you to store small snippets of info (ie, notes), and like Mental Case, GTD apps have a regular review process to ensure the information does not get lost. Mental Case may not be a GTD app, but it shares the same philosophy of regular review.
